Amrita Das, The Tsunami in Sri Lanka, 2005, ink on paper, 30 x 22 inches. Via Bellwether Gallery.
This is a drawing I had seen some time after the Tsunami of 2004. After viewing all of the recent footage in Japan I still feel that Amrita Das did an amazing job of showing the horrific upheaval of everyday life of all victims of a Tsunami. Just another indicator of the power of art. I think that we have a responsibility as artists to document what is going on .
