Shelden Peck (1797-1868)
Shelden Peck was a self-taught artist born in Cornwall, Vermont. He never signed his paintings.
I love the disproportionate bodies...the size of the heads and the small feet. I also love the rigidity of the poises. An innocent flatness or stiffness of the figure, the flat horizon lines all of his work has a unique personal style that I like a lot. My work has been and always will be under the influence of other artist's works.
